There's studies that prove that working longer does not mean higher productivity. World's top companies a lot of times have the most lax work schedules, high incentives and allow work from home. You cannot only look at one side of the story and start passing judgement. It would've made sense for people in leadership and owners to work that much. But why would a salaried employee work longer for no apparent benefits? He does not have any ownership or stake in the company. This is such a dumb take. People work so that they can afford living. Not everyone wants to work just to work. They're forced to.
